What we process and why
WirelessPick processes the minimum information needed to provide the catalog, remember choices on your device, answer enquiries, review missing-device suggestions, protect the service against abuse and diagnose technical problems. WirelessPick has no public user accounts, behavioral advertising or public analytics and does not sell personal data.
Legal bases
- Service and browser preferences: processing necessary to provide features you request and the operator’s legitimate interest in a usable service.
- Missing-device suggestions and anti-abuse checks: the operator’s legitimate interests in improving catalog accuracy, responding where clarification is requested and protecting the form.
- Email enquiries: the operator’s legitimate interest in answering requests, steps requested before a possible contract where applicable, and compliance with legal obligations where required.
- Security, admin sessions and technical logs: the operator’s legitimate interests in securing, maintaining and troubleshooting the service and compliance with applicable legal obligations.
Data stored in your browser
Theme, Compare selections and My Devices selections are stored in local storage in your browser. These preferences stay on that device unless you clear them. My Devices identifiers are not placed in ordinary shareable URLs. WirelessPick does not use these local choices for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Missing-device suggestions
The suggestion form collects the manufacturer and model you provide, and may collect an optional official source URL, comment and contact email. It also records limited page context and a one-way duplicate-submission identifier. The contact email is used only if clarification is needed. A honeypot, submission-size limits, per-address rate limiting and duplicate suppression protect the form. Cloudflare Turnstile is supported but is not currently enabled.
Valid reports are kept in the live database for no more than 90 days. A daily automated purge deletes expired reports. Temporary in-memory rate-limit information expires after one hour or when the application process restarts. Encrypted backup copies may remain until their rolling backup generation expires and are used only for disaster recovery.
Contact messages
Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to answer and manage the request, unless a legal obligation or dispute requires longer retention. Do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary sensitive information.
Admin sessions, security and server logs
Administrative sessions use signed secure cookies and CSRF protection. Limited technical records may include an IP address, time, requested route, response status and service errors for security, abuse prevention and reliability. The dedicated production application journal is retained for up to 14 days. Hosting infrastructure logs may follow OVH’s operational retention rules.
Recipients and processors
Personal data is accessible only to the operator and service providers that need it to deliver the service. OVH SAS provides hosting and the Zimbra email service. Encrypted production backups are stored in OVHcloud Object Storage. Data may also be disclosed where required by law. WirelessPick does not share suggestion reports with manufacturers or merchants as a routine practice. Cloudflare Turnstile is not an active recipient because it is currently disabled; this policy will be updated before it is enabled.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data, restriction of processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and receive portable data where the right applies. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact contact@wirelesspick.com to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL).
